We Care
Villa Escondida and its surrounding community is a special place and we are committed to reducing our footprint on the planet and have several practices in place to minimize our impact.

Energy Consumption
Villa Escondida is 100% powered with clean energy from Huatulco’s nearby wind electricity plant La Ventosa. The Villa has LED bulbs thought and our staff works closely with guests to help them reduce their energy consumption.

No Single-use plastic bottles
We have eliminated the use of individual plastic bottles and instead utilize an in-house filtration system to provide filtered water for guests.

recylcling
Our staff obtains an additional income thanks to the sale of bottles, cans and other recyclables collected and taken to the local recycling facility.

green cleaning
When it comes to cleaning, we consider the total impact on both human health and the environment. We, therefore, utilize Ecolab cleaning products that have a low impact on the environment but never compromising safety or performance. These Ecolab products are also used for the prevention of Covid-19.

Water Usage
Water is a precious resource in Huatulco as we often don’t receive rain for 6+ months! To reduce the Villas water consumption, all rooms have low flow water fixtures and dual flush toilets. We also change linens and towels every three days or upon request which helps us to significantly reduce our consumption.

Organic Waste
Organic waste is collected after each meal and repurposed into food for the La Bocana neighborhood chicken farmer.

Community Economic Commitments
We are passionate about hiring and buying local whenever possible. Our amazing staff members (Delfino, Rosa, Paulina, and Abi) all grew up here either down the street from the Villa or in the neighboring community of Copalita. The produce our chef purchases is grown in the area, our furniture in the Villa was made by local woodworkers/artisans, and even our house Mezcal is produced by a local Oaxacan family!
